About Kai Green:
Soccer has shaped every chapter of my life — from competing at the Division I level to
building a long professional career and now mentoring the next generation of players. I
played Division I soccer at Seton Hall University from 2012–2015, where I learned the
discipline, resilience, and work ethic required to compete at a high level. Although I was
not drafted into MLS, I earned an open tryout with Rio Grande Valley FC Toros and
signed my first professional contract in 2016. Since then, I’ve built a professional career
spanning more than nine years with Rio Grande Valley FC Toros, San Antonio FC,
Oakland Roots SC, and Monterey Bay FC, playing over 250 professional matches and
ranking among the all-time leaders in USL Championship minutes played. Along the way,
I’ve had the honor of captaining both Monterey Bay FC and Oakland Roots, experiences
that strengthened my leadership, professionalism, and commitment to team culture.
Off the field, I’m passionate about helping players and families navigate their own journeys
in the game. I am currently pursuing my USSF B Coaching License and recently served as
the Technical Director for Albany-Berkeley Soccer Club. My mission is to use my experience
to guide athletes through player development, recruiting, and long-term growth while helping
them build confidence and discipline both on and off the field. I believe every player
deserves honest mentorship, a clear plan, and someone who understands the path
firsthand, and I’m committed to helping the next generation reach their full potential.
